The Story:
The first versions of pokemon ever, the game that started it all. There was also a green version released in japan, but wasn't released in america because it was considered boring. Includes 151 pokemon, although one of them, mew, cannot be caught in the game. The story line of the game can be summed up as: The youg pokemon trainer Ash travels to new cities, battling gym leaders and other trainers, and catching pokemon along the way while thwarting the plans of team rocket and constant confrontations with your rival, Gary.
The goal: to become a pokemon master by defeating the elite four and capturing all the pokemon.
